Football is our life – rarely has this sentence been explored in all its ambivalence, with more criticism, humour and emotion, than in Our Team : “Yes, football is so much about the money, yes, the quotes about women's football document a problematic understanding of gender, yes, the description of the tragic figure of Mesut Özil, who mutated from a prime example of integration to a Turkish nationalist, proves how broken this scene can make you ... And yet Tuğsal Moğul and Maren Zimmermann are full of affection for football. This contradiction reveals a tension that makes Our Team an evening that can do more than just give an insight into football culture. Because it is about a real question that Moğul and Zimmerman ask but do not answer: Can you love even though everything speaks against this love?” (Nachtkritik)

«Our Team convincingly brings euphoria, doubt and reflection around football to the stage... (The evening) is fully committed to the joy of watching and playing football, and uses this widespread joy in the great sporting drama to tell of social change in Germany... while nationalist narratives once again dominate the world situation.» (Süddeutsche Zeitung)
«A reminder for the enlightened football fan. In other words, for those who know how to celebrate the German national team as an expression of our diverse society.» (die tageszeitung)
