Four lost people in a metropolitan back house with a yard which is hardly reached by any light even in midsummer. Life has become nothing more than managing hazardous waste and fragments of dreams: «One doesn't have much left and makes do with the remnants.» When a social worker interjects into this antisocial biotope and demands immediate changes to the precarious living conditions, a process is set in motion that, after some conflicts and outbursts, awakens a completely new feeling among the residents: solidarity for each other. It is difficult, but worth a try. In the end, the «outcasts» become aware of their own strength and stage the joyful uprising as a travesty - without and against the state.
«Thomas Melle designs a house of the dead with a life of its own, through which the ghosts of the German-German past also haunt. A horror comedy, full of allusions to film and literature topoi, filled with uncanny hints ... There is an atmosphere of cultivated paranoia in which everyone feels observed, but which simultaneously provides the last sense of security.» (Theater der Zeit)

World premiere
24.06.2007 Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe (Director: Christian Hockenbrink)
