A family is mourning the death of the father. The children are searching for meaning and orientation, but they have very different needs and coping strategies. Very special and at the same time very normal, like in every family. If the siblings were not called Electra, Orestes and Chrysothemis. And if the father had not been Agamemnon, who was murdered by his wife Clytemnestra. Then the entire millennia-old burden of ancient responsibility (crime, guilt, atonement, etc.) would not lie heavily on the shoulders of the three. In the struggle for a common way out of the misery, lingering conflicts surface, extending into the present.

Felix Krakau's «transformative reinterpretation» (Volkstheater Vienna) shifts focus from the archaic realms of deities and fates to sibling dynamics and the potential to break the perpetual cycle and end the story differently.
«It's about murder, sacrifice, revenge and destiny. The usual topics of Greek mythology ... (But) Felix Krakau stages Electra (the show must go on) as a humorous evening.» (Falter)
«Great theater.» (Kurier)
