Die Bücherinsel

Sandra, who works as a cleaner, accidentally stumbles upon the colourful book club at the small island bookshop. Despite her reserved nature, she is immediately welcomed with open arms. With her love of literature, her artistic streak, and her acquaintance with the successful publisher Meinhard Gerke, she fits in perfectly. But why does she reveal so little about herself, and why is she sometimes so abrupt and dismissive? Is there more to her life on the island as a cleaner and beach chair rental lady than she lets on?
 When the bookseller discovers Sandra's carefully guarded secret, she offers to help her. However, just as Sandra begins to hope that she can change her life, she receives a message from her parents that threatens to turn everything upside down again.
