House of the Sun
(Haus zur Sonne)
2F / 3M
In the "House of the Sun" – a suicide clinic or, more precisely, a diffuse futuristic wellness resort with a 24/7-promise of happiness – various people gather who have been discarded by society. Or who have discarded themselves and are now supposed to either develop new motivation for life or depart from it. Since a dead, unemployable person no longer burdens the state, the "House of the Sun" is subsidized by the relevant authorities. Currently, a small group is practicing finding meaning: "Everyone wants to be cool," Imke knows, and accordingly, she relentlessly optimizes her body, from anal bleaching to surgical interventions. Corinna, on the other hand, is searching for love while Albert tests the limits of his consciousness. Their daily life follows clearly defined rules – until Klaus, a new guest who consistently evades the ritualized daily routines, poses a threat to the hard-won balance.
World premiere
26.01.2006 Theater Erlangen (Director: Eike Hannemann)
