Marc, a police officer, leads a normal life with Bettina. The couple have just moved into a terraced house and are expecting their first child. While on a training course at work Marc meets Kay, and can’t pretend that he doesn’t feel attracted to him. They begin a passionate affair that threatens to destroy Marc and Bettina’s tranquil, ordinary lifestyle.
Karsten Dahlem’s script for the award-winning 2013 film directed by Stephan Lacant «impresses with the finely pitched casualness of the dialogue and, without involving a wider social circle, shows how difficult it can be to steer one’s own life and that of one’s family through all the insecurities and temptations, and to stop a fall into the abyss once it’s started». (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung)
«[The script] depicts an emotional vortex in the midst of a homophobic small-town atmosphere with a precision that allows the story to develop an irresistible pull.» (Der Tagesspiegel)
World premiere
17.02.2016 Staatstheater Nürnberg (Director: Karsten Dahlem)
