Germany, in the year 2057. Genetic research, early medical prevention and strict enforcement of personal hygiene prevent even outbreaks of the common cold. The young biologist Mia Holl, until very recently was a proponent of the system that rigidly protects all citizens from bodily harm. But after her brother Moritz who had never really accepted the primacy of health, had been convicted by DNA evidence of murdering a woman and committed suicide in prison, Mia was thrown off course. She has doubts regarding Moritz’ guilt, she lets herself go, doesn't hand in her nutritional reports, even smokes a cigarette. Law enforcement sets its sight on her, as Mia's behavior is a threat to common welfare. Ill advised by her lawyer, who sees her as a figure head of resistance, Mia becomes the pawn in a show trial that the whole nation watches with bated breath. Her weightiest and at the same time most seductive opponent is the journalist Heinrich Kramer, who's book "Health as a Principle of Governmental Legitimization" is a key work of the ruling doctrine...
