Richard Kropf

Richard Kropf was born in 1979 in Berlin-West. He began his career as an actor and trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York. He then studied German language and literature and marketing at the FU Berlin before focussing on screenwriting. Among other things, he wrote one film in the Tatort series (2018), the Boris Becker biopic Der Rebell (2022), the series Gute Freunde about FC Bayern in the Beckenbauer era, as well as the cinema films Wochenendrebellen (2023) with Florian David Fitz and Very Best Ager (2024) with Heiner Lauterbach and Iris Berben, both directed by Marc Rothemund.

Since 2012, he has also been writing in a team with Hanno Hackfort and Bob Konrad. Together they are responsible for series such as 4 Blocks (2016-2021), Labaule und Erben (2018), Para - Wir sind King (2022) and Kleo (2022-24). They have won the Grimme Prize, the German Television Prize, the Jupiter Award and were nominated for the prestigious Critics Choice Award. Frost is his first theatre play.
