When in November 2006, a young student injured five teachers and fellow students at the Geschwister-Scholl School in Emsdetten with his bullets, before taking his own life, he posted his notes on the internet. This material is the basis for Lars Norén's monologue. But despite staying close to the facs, November 20 is no factual report. As eloquently as he is intense, Norén’s protagonist tells of the life of a outsider, of being bullied in school, of overburdened teachers, small and big humiliations. Norén's text draws the portrait of a perpetrator, who in his powerlessness and rage can no longer be stopped by well-meaning phrases of appeasement, and appeals to reason and patience. "Norén's piece confronts us with something we would rather not know: our shared responsibility for this homicidal madness... By becoming aware to what extent our society exploits, rejects and abandons people, who then will seek revenge, makes us choke. Something got knocked out of balance, and again it is Lars Norén, whose theater of discomfort puts a finger in the wound.» (Le Soir)
