Oliver Kluck was born 1980 in Bergen, on the Island of Rügen. After receiving a vocational training, he went on to study civil engineering in Rostock. He quit in 2006 to attend Leipzig University, where he studied writing prose, dramatic art, and new media. In May 2009, Kluck’s text Das Prinzip Meese won him a fellowship for young dramatists from the Berliner Theatertreffen. Additional works: Warteraum Zukunft (Waiting Room Future), winner of the Kleist Förderpeis 2010, and Zum Parteitag Bananen (Bananas for the Party Convention). In the fall of 2010, Kluck received an invitation to the workshop days (Werkstatttage) of the Vienna Burgtheater. He received the BDI-Dramatikerpreis 2011. Oliver Kluck presently lives in Berlin.
