Roma Romeo und Sinti Carmen

Roma Romeo and Sinti Carmen
1F / 1M, for ages 12 +

Carmen and José can’t stand each other, but they have been assigned to a joint project in school. They have to develop a presentation on the situation of the Roma and Sinti in Germany. In the beginning, they both find the topic “totally boring”, but the more they work on it, the more they become absorbed by it. They decide to roam Europe as gypsies, because “it is so romantic” and “a great way to live outside this corrupt system”. But soon they realize that not everybody is your fan, when you are not like everybody else.
This is a road movie about the limits of cliché and truth, about love, hate, and prejudice – and about the life that is waiting for us, somewhere out there.
