Nomads in the no-man’s land of a ruined city, shortly before or after Doomsday. Werther meets Lotte and falls into the delirium of love – a journey into the heart of darkness, because romance is deadly in a world where everyone is against each other. But Werther has lost himself to this grand emotion. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Goethe’s Lotte and Werther and David Lynch’s Sailor und Lula are just some of the models who Staffel’s characters emulate in their amour fou.
