Somnia

Intensive care as a state of emergency: In the IC unit, humans are reduced to the sum of their organs and are run by machines. But apart from mechanical noises and medical necessities there are transitory states: the confusing world of dreams and extraordinary levels of consciousness of the patients. Using interviews with former intensive care patients, Tuğsal Moğul’s Somnia tells the story of those worlds, as well as the stories of a very practically oriented daily routine in an intensive care unit.
