Joseph Roth’s most famous novel Job is the story of the Singers, an eastern Jewish family, that opens on the eve of the First World War and ends in exile in America. Koen Tachelet’s stage adaptation received its world premiere in April 2008 at the Munich Kammerspiele theatre in a production directed by Johan Simons.

«This evening’s show is a miracle ... The first thing deserving of praise is the adaptation by Koen Tachelet that retains Roth’s rhythm and the richness of his poetic imagery by re-routing the narrative stream through the mouths of the characters.» (Süddeutsche Zeitung)

19.04.2008 Münchner Kammerspiele (Director: Johan Simons)
